I really can't decide between the 2. I prefer the thinner grind on the carver but like the thinner stock of the mini bush. Sizes are almost the same. I am not stuck on these 2 at all and just want something in this general size range. I also have no experience with convexed edges. These little ones a good place to start?

Well, they both look awesome. I think, you can always send the mini bush in for a spa treatment and ask them to do a different grind, but you cant do a different stock if you get the little carver. A knife that small, id prefer a thinner stock. Just my 2 cents.

You can send in a scandi and the will full flat grind it?

BRKT does a lot of custom work when asked about it. I'm not sure if they will do that specifically, but you could email them or call and ask before you buy the knife and I'm sure they would be happy to tell you if it's something they are willing to do or not.
I have seen a lot of people have some very interesting things done to BRKT knives in their factory.

ksf still has the older carvers at .150 thickness, but the new ones are .125. if you are thinking re-grind the older ones would have more material to work with, or take off, whatever. carvers seem pointier, so i'd guess it'd depend on what you like for blade shape. the weight of both is so slight as to be almost negligible. get both and send back the one you don't like!;) always the perfect answer.
thanks, Neal

I probably need to buy them both and try them out in hand. Any other blades in this size from other makers anyone recommends?

Spoken like a true knife dude.
A bit of a heads up though . . . don't let your significant other (SWMBO, banker, accountant, Boss of the home fires) see you typing this kind of talk . . . tends to worry them . . . and make them look for the big scissors; you know the ones that can handle cutting up all kinds of credit cards in hurry.
yah . . . I'd have the screen saver on a hair trigger.
