So, my Mikro showed up in the mail today. I got this knife from Texastony in a trade because they have always looked interesting to me. Well, I've read the specs online and tried to envision it, but when I opened it up... I was taken back by how small it really was. Crapper, thought I, this probably isnt going to be of much use. Wrong. I picked it up, and it fit into my hand like magic. Small, but sturdy feeling. So, I take it outside and try it out with some whittling and notch making. Man... this thing blew me away. The convex edge flew right threw the wood. Next, I tried some fuzz sticks. With this, I had to tweak my method a bit, since I'm used to have more blade length. Again, the Mikro excelled at this task. It's been riding in my back pocket all day, and I keep forgetting it's there - that's how compact this little bugger is. It's perfect for EDC and woods-walking, small and light, but capable of handling fairly large cutting tasks. Granted, it probably wont baton very well, but otherwise... I mean, this thing is nice. It certainly has made me want another BRKT.

Thanks, Tony!

The Mikro-Canadian was the first BRKT I got, and it's still the one I carry the most. It's a knife that cuts a lot bigger than it should, and I have yet to have a single sheeple react negatively to it.

Hard to believe that something so small could be so functional!

My first Barkie was the Mini Canadian - very similar to the Mikro but with a four-finger grip. It certainly behaves like a big knife, but is easy to edc. I use it the most of my fixed blades, and only felt underknifed on one occasion (not the best choice for splitting firewood when you don't have a hatchet handy). Pair it with a multitool and you can just about rule the planet.

They are pretty cool. My 10 yr old loves his. I have used it, and am petty impressed with the handiness of them.

That's good to hear. I've been thinking about getting one for my wife to replace the little crappy paring knife she carries in her lunch bag.

Congrats on the great score.
I have a mikro II and a mini canadian. I EDC each of them often.
The problem with Bark River knives is that they are like potato chips- it is really hard to have just one.:D

congrats on the new barkie... the mikro is one of mt favorite EDC knives... with the PSK and little creek close behind of course...:o

so, which barkie are planning on getting next...:D
