just acquired one of these with orange g-10 in trade, It's not in my posession yet, but just wanted gather some opinions thanks.

It is a back up knife for me. Also a knife I tend to have with me near saltwater. Very good knife for kitchen duty too.

Cool thanks kev,

I'm thinking about pulling the triger on either a fox river or a north star as well, I know your a big fan of the fox river.

I'm a huge fan of the Fox River. It is my 24/7 woods knife. I have it with me at all times no matter what when I'm in the woods.

This is my go to knife. I have a Northstar but the Fox is my favorite.

I was going to get either a northstar or the mini ns for my first big barkie but settled on the nebula. (in orange )

Well pleased with my Mini Northstar. Good size and a useful knife for a day-pack situation, excellent for food prep and it looks the business.

Never been keen on BRKT sheathes though, they ride too high and bruise your ribs, but with the Mini Northstar I put it in the pack or coat pocket or else put it in a spare dangler sheath for belt use.

You will not be disappointed I'm sure!

I like the new Sharpshooter sheaths more and more, although I still like a wet-formed snug fit as opposed to the pouch. The mini-Northstar comes with the best BRKT sheath yet...I think anyway. What struck me about this knife, Riley, was that for the first time of any of my BRKT's, they put the blade steel type on the blade under their logo. I really like this knife....I think I'll carry it today :)

Northstar is probably my favorite Bark River.

I've handled the mini one, but don't own one yet.

The only downside on the NS is the handle shape. If you hand and the handle is very wet, esp on the really polished handled ones, the shape of the handle can make your hand slip forward toward the blade.

In all the time using mine only ran into it once when it was hot and covered in sweat.

Mike Stewart recently ran a batch of the full sized Northstars with a contoured handle which I thought would have addressed the issue.

But I love the NS I have 2 and the size is really nice.
