I have a Kershaw 1550 that the tip of the blade broke off. Actually this is the second 1550 I had to do this. I lost the first one and someone bought me this one for Christmas to replace the first one about three years ago. The tip broke shortly after receiving it and I threw it in a drawer and have been carrying another brand but it is a piece of crap compared to the Kershaw. I really like this knife and would like to get it fixed. I am sure someone here has sent knives back to Kershaw for repair and can guide me in the right direction.

How did the tip break? I assume you were prying with it. Call them up they can probably sharpen it out for you if you cant

Yet the tip hasn't broken off, like the two "better" ones, eh?

Humm, I see your point. If I could get the blade replaced at a reasonable price I might give it one more go. But if it's going to cost very much I may need to look at another brand. I don't believe I abused either of the Kershaw's anymore than any other knife I have ever had and I don't remember ever breaking the tip on any of them.

if you send it in and it is not a blem, then kershaw will take care of you. just go to kershawknives.com, click on the kershaw page, and then go to the warranty section. put in your information and you are off to the races. people don't say that kershaw has the best warranty in the buisness for nothing.

I am sure they will fix it, but tips break two ways...dropping it on a hard surface or using it as a pry bar.....Stabbing into a hard object may break a point but more rare as the blade tends to break more down the blade then....
