Dropped sage today and broke tip. Not horrible but pointy end is gone. Will spyderco reshape the tip for me if I send it in? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

If you have the 204 diamond rods for the sharpmaker you can regrind the tip yourself.
How about a pic. How did you break the tip?

I wouldn't recommend that. As agressive as those diamond rods are it's still going to take an hour or two.

Better off grabbing a XC DMT stone, sending it in to Spyderco, or sending it to one of the sharpening guys (knifenut, richard j) to regrind.

if it is less than a 1/16" off i think that it will be covered in the free sharpening, you just need to send in $5 for return shipping. call them and ask but they will tell you to send it in.

If you have a belt sander, you can take some metal off of the spine so that you don't waste your edge away just to get the tip back.

I personally think it should be covered by warrenty. You dropped it! That's not abuse in my book and I hope Sal and the gang help you our

I hope this is sarcasm?!

Do you wreck your car and expect Ford to cover it under their 3 year/36K mile warranty?

I did the same thing to my UKPK. I used the extra coarse stone from my Lansky kit and ground down the spine a little bit. Took about 5-10 min. Easy!

No it's not sarcasim at all!!! He
didn't
pry open a car
door
with his 100 + dollar knife !!! He accedently dropped it like we all have our blades!!! Now we havnt seen a pic yet, but if More then just the very splinter picken tip (first 1/16 of the tip) there is a problem with brittleness !!! I'm sorry but the first 1/8 of the tip of an extremely overpriced tiawanese knife should not snap off with a simple drop!! Ib droped knives hundreds of times with no issue !!!! Spyderco should fix it!!
