2012-08-14_21-38-41_669.jpg Well the title says it all. I just got my rucki not even a week ago now and ive been beating the hell out of it, and its been asking for more. So it all started yesterday after I got off work. I had a tree in my front yard that id been wanting to limb up a little bit and the rucki told me to do it so I couldnt disagree. To make a long story short im going to town on a limb, take the limb out, go to sheath my knife and its slips ha (famous last words) and falls 15+ ft right to its tip. Now all that being said ive contacted swamp about my warranty but havent heard back yet but I know they're busy right now. My only question that I had is if anyone here has ever had to actually use their warranty? If so is it another 6-10 week wait to get a replacement knife? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks folks, Riley

Don't know, but they will take care of you. Sure is a bummer. What did it land on? Concrete?

Basically, it was actually a pavers stone to be precise. Definitely a bummer to say the least. Still tears through trees no problem though, just not as aesthetically pleasing anymore.

Seems like I only see that in DHT models. I saw a Copweiler (can’t find it. It was a green one) a while back with the tip broke off somewhere here or one of the other forums and KalEl's M9. Is it an issue of where the different hardnessses (hardeni???) of the blade meet?

The rucki's are through hardened. I think it's mostly a matter of having a fine tip+ hitting something hard. My M9 hit a rock after a 3 ft drop and the break didnt go near the DHT line. I remember the broken chopweiler but didn't the swamp day that one ended up too hard? I think thats the only failure/ break Ive seen on a Rat that wasn't a result of hitting rocks or hammering metal on metal.

Either way Rats are tough as nails and aside from hitting concrete/ rocks they are about immune to damage.

And BTW bring back the DHT!!! :)

My bad on the Rucki being DHT. I am with you. When you order a 6"+ blade there should be radio buttons for DHT or TH. I would pay $5 an inch.

Awesome! You were chopping "in" the tree?

And another vote for the tanto!!!!!! That would be the bees knees!

Oh yea I was doing some in tree choppin. Ill try and get some pics up a little later to show you guys what im dealin with.
