Although I have all the BK&Ts, the one I use a lot is the Patrol Machete #BK6. I really love this blade!

Today, I was cutting young tallows and sweet gums in my wooded pasture and loving it all. Then I went to trim some dead low branches in a thicket of pine tress, and some more sweet gums and other junk.

Clink!

Suddenly, a large chunk of my work horse was laying on the ground. This blade has cut a lot of stuff, let's guess 2000+ items big and small. In the end a half inch branch took a bite out of it. A half moon piece 4 1/2" x 1 1/8" fell out. Sorry, I do not know how to post an image yet but will try to place this on my web site if anyone else is interested.

I need to apply for that limited lifetime warranty, and get some backups. Any suggestios since I did not get this directly through an official distributor?

Mr. Boswell,
Sorry to hear about the trouble you've had with the BK6! If you will send me an email with your phone #[day or night] I would love to give you a call tomorrow and discuss how it happened. I will also make arrangements with you to get you a new BECKER. This is not normal for the PATROL MACHETE, but we have had a few instances of blade fracture occuring. We would like to talk to you on the phone about the circumstances[for our better understanding of the problem], and also assure you that we will stand behind the product!

I look forward to talking to you!

Boy that's an odd fracture...
Usually the blade fractures pretty much in a straight line perpendicular to the edge.

Man! That is a really wierd looking fracture!! Man do I love folks that stand behind their stuff though! Since there is no such thing as the "perfect" anything, I'd always rather do business with a company that understands that when "stuff" happens, you stand behind your product! Will DEFINITELY has that down pat!
Hope you enjoy your new PM as much as ya did your old one!!:D :D

Oh my goodness! That definitely is an odd looking fracture. You are about to find out why Camillus is one of the top production companies. Not just beacuse of the excellent products they manufacture, but their customer service as well.

I have had several conversations with Will and a replacement is on the way to me. I will be returning my broken one for their inspection.

I am very pleased to be their customer. First class support from Will!

Can't wait to get back to chopping,

Richard

As usual Camillus customer service is #1.

Hmmm, that fractured off piece sure looks like it has the potental to make a nice Wharncliffe neck knife......

I had a "problem" (really nothing at all) and sent will an e-mail. Next afternoon I got a call from him, offering to take care of it. Camillus will stand behind their knives.

I am very pleased to report that I received a replacement BK6 on Friday after breaking my old favorite on Sunday evening. So I replaced the picture of the broken blade with one of a new blade.

Will, I will be sending the broken one to you soon as I can make the arrangements this week. I really appreciate your help. I am back to work soon as our rain stops.

Thanks,

Richard
