Broken, but hey it's a "custom"....

Well, after browsing through gotthestuff's listing, I found something I liked...

VINTAGE CARVING KNIFE & FORK SET w/ BRASS & CARVED WOOD

I won't bore y'all with a long story, but my late sister had one of these as a knick-knack back in the 60's. I don't know what happened to it, but it stuck in my memory through the years. Hers was Made In India; cheaply I'm sure, with pitiful steel, but it was fun to look at/play with. I'm sure this will be too. :)

I gotta tell you guys...
We caught about 100 lbs of fish the other day and my buddy was cleaning them with his 110 that he's had for about 20 years.. It's cleaned EVERTYHING you can imagine over the years.
This old guy is a master at knife handling.

We were at my house ( tools galore) He was taking the dorsal fin out of a bass and SNAP.
About 1 inch up on the blade... damnest thing I ever saw.
Joe H./Buck co. will be getting it in a few days.

Joe.. it's marked " JJ Shane and co." You did a run for them at Xmas... years ago. George got it then as a Xmas gift from JJ.

Sometimes chit happens.
I didn't put it under my microscope but could "see" a flaw in the inner metal where it broke ( I think)
Tips are generally ( usually), not always, abuse..
This knife freaked me out !
