Broken Liner lock on my Damascus Custom knife..

Hey gang... I have a custom Damascus knife and some how the end liner lock, closest to the end/contact of the blade, broke off. About a half inch broke off and now I cannot lock the blade when it is extended. I have called Damascus asking if they could repair it but they told me they do not repair knives. The liner lock appears to be made of brass. Does anyone know where I can get my favorite knife repaired ? Even if I have to send it out of town, I will do so. I live in Alexandria, VA. Some one please help. I really did love this knife. I was told, removing the liner lock and having it welded would not work.

Hmm... Pics are probably going to be necessary here.

Who was it that made the knife? Damascus is a place and a type of forged steel. I've never heard of a maker by the name, but I could be wrong.

While paid members can upload pictures directly from their computers, anyone can open a photo hosting account.

I use www.photobucket.com . Download your pictures to the account and they give you a URL for each picture.
Copy & Paste that in your post here. Use the fourth URL choice, with the tags already in place.

Or as Spark says:
How can I post an image to the site? Simple: Go to [url]http://www.imgur.com[/url] and upload your image.
After uploading, select the BBCode option - it starts with [IMG]. Copy. Paste. Enjoy.

Once we get a better idea of what is involved here, we can ask the knifemakers here if any of them would be willing to rebuild and replace the broken part.

No matter where you start a thread, the same questions will still be asked.

What brand of knife?

Pictures?

We can't help you if we don't have a better idea of what we are dealing with.

Once again, pictures and brand:)
There are lots of makers right here, one of them can prob make a new liner for you.

Like a company marking a symbol or something. The waves are the layers in the damascus. Do you remember what you paid for it because that would narrow down the choices some? Picutres are worth a thousand words btw so.

Havent seen anything really like it before, you could probably get one of the custom makers here to fix the liner.

I hope you didn't pay much for this, because any knife-maker who don't fix their own knives obviously have some shady business practices. :/

I was told that brass does not make for good liner lock. I believe him (Cicatriz). Can anyone tell me if they know of someone/vendor that can repair my knife ? If so, the knife will be in the mail first thing tomorrow morning. I live in Alexandria, VA and have searched locally but with no success. Your help is greatly appreciated !

To me this has the appearance of a Pakistan made -custom-. Anybody seen any like this anywhere besides flea bay?
