Good news from the Doc.The X-ray showed significant bone growth in the last 4 wks. He was amazed since the first 4 weeks showed almost none. The bone growth stimulator and the supplements I have been taking seem to be working great. The clavicle was broken in two places about 3/4" apart. The new bone is bypassing the little 3/4" piece and joining the main bone ends.
I am the first patient using the stimulator on a clavicle break and I had to make my own holder for the transducer to fit over the shoulder. All they had was for arms, legs, and fingers. A leather belt and some lacing adapted the standard holder nicely. The factory Rep said to just hold it in place. I did an average of 10 treatments a day, which took a total of about 5 hrs so holding was nuts.
Another 4 to 6 wks at the same rate should get me fixed. Then I can find out what my arm will let me do.

They say a patient should always participate in his own treatment. I guess you really showed them how to do that! :D

Really happy for you. Keep up the quick mend.

You really did something for yourself this time rather than to yourself! I wish the rest of your recovery also goes very well. Frank

I had to wear one last spring when I broke my ankle. Ten hours daily, so I strapped on before I went to bed and let run all night. Most of times it would shift or fall off completely. So I'm not sure how much benefit it was to me.

Good to hear you're having success in your recovery. Take it easy and continue to "solidify".

Way to go Mike. Keeping the faith and being hard headed enough to make your own holder has worked wonders. It won't be as long as it has been. You'll be cranking out knives before you know it.

good new Mike!! Please dont tell me that damn horse broke your shoulder :)
Keep up the progress:thumbup:

Thanks for all the well wishes.
I had 3 forged blades already heat treated before the broken shoulder. Since the Doc said I could start doing some light work, I did some grinding yesterday. It was a bit awkward at first but it felt great to be at it again.
Gonna try to go back to work Monday and keep it light.

Outstanding Mike!!
Another case of American ingenuity making the difference!!!

I'm very glad to hear how much you're improving. Making your own harness is a great touch. Wonder if there might be a market for them :-)
