Bronze

Looks like what I've been using, except after skinning the top and bottom off clean there's no sign of casting lines. I love bronze, but it can be a pain to work.

Yup I got the same Aluminum bronze from MSC. It works like 304ss. I like the silicon bronze better but it will tarnish or patina whichever you prefer. The aluminum bronze does not tarnish, at least not as easily. I like the Al bronze it is just a PITA to work.

I skinned both sides and the line on the flat side still showed when I started buffing it. The lines on the edge of the bar did not show.

You really need to take more than just a skim cut. The material is rolled oversize for this reason. I cannot remember how much I had to take off but i think it was in t .02 range per side. Then if you look really close it can still be seen. I think that annealing it will have a great result, not only softer but it will help to hide some of those waves.....
