Well, the SFNO that was discussed a lot recently arrived today. As requested, here are a couple pictures. It came with a Okuden sheath as well, but I did not get any pictures of that yet.

Here is a close up of the words inscribed on the side of the blade

Wow! That is beautiful!

Do you know the history of this knife? Just curious about the inscription.

No, I don't. I'm hoping Jerry or someone will jump in with that, if they can.

I didn't know that was even on the knife until after I bought it.

That is a very nice and unique one you got there

What is the story behind the etching?

I am assuming you knew it was inscribed before you bought it off ebay...

Very cool blade...

If the dude never told me it was inscribed I would be ultra pissed !!!

WOW! Thats sweet:thumbup:

Wonder what the story is on this one?
I bet it's a great one...seems they would have told you about the inscription.

Wow--a beautiful blade, and the inscription makes it even more interesting. Would love to hear the story on this one!

The original owner told me before he sold it to UDDwaine that...

"This is actualy a left over from a govt contract and very rare."

I think that's quite the knife to have in your collection. I'm very jelous! I should have made an offer when I had the chance!

I was sitting at the airport just about to board my plane when I put in the bid. I had not bid on it previously, and thought that one of the HOGs would quickly outbid me. I was very surprised when I got to my destination and checked the auction.

I thought the price was going to sky-rocket wildly out of control so I didn't even bother!

(So dumb.)

Edit: Keeping in mind though it was probably made in a batch sen t out for military use (i'm guessing) I think it's good that it stayed in the USA. Would be kinda weird for a non mil / non gov CANADIAN to own that one perhaps?

Oh well.

I can't imagine it being for a govt contact in DCBB/Snake. Do you know the seller you asked?

Looks like a private order for a certain group in the military, maybe:confused:

I have no Idea though:confused:
If you do know the seller does he come here?

This is very interesting, hope we find the whole story, but we may never.
I'm sure Jerry does know the whole story, but he won't tell if it's millitary, and may not at all.

I would like to have had this one myself, great inscription!

Very sweet knife. Congrats.
I don't think I would use that one either.
If I were you I would send it to me. :D
