Brown para 2 wait

The steel is about the same as regular production. I do not think that anybody in a blind test will see the difference. This is not a sprint or limited run. This is distributor exclusive and as long as he can sell, he will order more and more. And it is significantly more expensive that production para2. The knife doesn't have much of collector value or much of additional value for a user to compare with regular G10/S30v knife. Am I missing something?

Stop drinking the hatorade bud. Lol I just like the brown and wanted to try something different.
 
$20 extra for brown G10 scales? Sounds a lot cheaper than custom scales. I would be happy if every knife spyderco makes came in 2 or 3 g10 colors.

Would you mind explaining a little more about this 'shortage'? I've been out of the loop and thought the Para2 had been out for some time but just looking around at retailers, the knife seems very difficult to keep in stock. What happened?

The knife got very popular and Spyderco cannot keep up with production. They are running full capacity, and everything is fine except more and more people want them.
 
my account just got charged im getting it monday this is crazy wasn't expecting it for a few months the only bad thing is this charge takes money out of my East Coast Custom Knife Show fund but I don't care i will have my first para-military 2 soon especially for the show
 
I ordered mine in October I believe and had it within a week. Personally I think it is better than the stock Para2. Good luck everyone trying to get any variation of the Para2. All of them seem to be in short supply right now.

Does anyone happen to know how many Brown Para2's Spyderco has produced? Plans on producing? It just seems like its not a sprint run at all.

I was in the local brick and mortar sporting goods store today.The had the black DLC Para2 priced at $229.00.
 
I think it was Spyderco's January newsletter that explained how the Para2 is the best selling USA made knife and they didn't expect such a demand. But as someone mentioned, they're trickling out. I think they expect to be completely out of back-orders by Summer 2013. But the HQ place mentioned in the OP recently got another batch of the brown Sprints. So if you pre-ordered they should be en route!

Still waiting on a Black/Black and Black/Digicam Para2... but it sounds like I shouldn't delay taking pics of my Spyderco's on account of them :/
