Browning knives?

You usually get some freebies in their box too ;)

Yes, I did!

The Ice Storms are really nice knives. I got a red and a green one. They are really smooth and super sharp. It looks like the clip could be removed if you disassemble the knife, has anyone tried?

BTW -- Does anyone know if these are a new model or are they discontinued?

I disassembled two of mine last night to remove excess lube and clean them up even though they were pretty new.

Let me tell you, these are super fine knives through and through. I have the green in my pocket now.

You can't remove the clip because it's part of the liner lock liner. But the quality is amazing. right down to the screws even. They are very easy to take apart and put back together for the record.

I don't know if they are current production or discontinued. My guess is discontinued but not certain. That's why I bought four but in retrospect, the straight handled ones are by far my favorite model. I have two straight greens, a gold and a maroon

I too bought some of the Ice Storms from CDNN.
One with the gold anodized handle and the other with the burgundy anodized handle.
Excellent fit and finish, great steel and definitely worth the money! (Think of them as bargain McCustas, but folders you’d want to actually carry and use.)

Get a couple – you won’t be disappointed!

Regards,
Mike

I picked up the Gold Ice Storm (version 1) a couple of months ago. I agree with the above posters on how they easily take a spooky sharp edge, they seem to hold it pretty well too.

This knife has been my first experience with Vg-10, overwhelmingly positive to say the least.

I must have been quite unlucky when I bought my first and last Browning about 18 years ago, I can't imagine a poorer edge holding blade. It can't even get a spot on the "shop beater knife list". And yet a friend has a similar model that he is very happy with and it holds an edge quite well. Good to see they're doing well for people.

Just got my Ice Storm from an ebay auction. For some reason the seller did not refer to it as an Ice Storm model in the title, only in the description. For that reason I got my very nice knife for $15.50 plus 5 dollars shipping. Very sharp out of the box, about equal to my Spyderco Delica for sharpness.

That's a real bargain! I love misspellings/leaving out key words/other ebay mistakes that work in your favor. Enjoy the knife!
