I have for trade a Browning Field Duty Extreme X-3. Model # 686. Made by TOPS for Browning (USA). 6 inch blade, 11 3/4 overall. 1/4 inch thick. 1095, RC58. Linen Micarta handles. Nylon sheath, hard liner, pouch. Blade has Browning inscription.
Knife is basically and literally an improved Tom Brown tracker. Similar profile. No saw teeth, no double edge/hook edge/double bevel (whatever you consider it). Partial edge on back -good for fire steel use, ect.. Things that are the same or very near to the same include the handle, weight, thumb ramp, finish, ect..
Only use this knife has seen is one smaller log. Result is slight finish smoothing/wear wear the blade contacted the wood. Since then I've had the handle sand blasted and the edge sharpenned (both professionally). Handle now has slightly more grip, and edge is convexed and shaving sharp. This knife is heavy duty to say the least.
I'm basically interested in a slightly lighter fixed-blade knife good for outdoor use. Not looking for any serrations. Not too fond of uncoated non-staniless blades). A couple I'd like include:
Mission MPK (A2 steel)
Fallkniven knives (A1 or similar)
Barkriver knives (most mid -larger sized knives -Bravo, ect..)
Microtech Currahee (clip-point)
Rat Cutlery (RC-6)
Lots of customs
I'm sure there are other knives I'd like, but these are an example. I could likely be convinced to go for a nice folder too and/or a nice neck/edc/pocket/iwb fixed blade -as always. I'll consider any offer that is reasonable. I can send some pictures at your request. (There's also one on ebay if you just want a quick look.) I can be reached at -joepancamo at yahoo.com. Thanks, Joe
