The barrel will be made in a canister (dry welding method) to prevent any welding problems like cold shuts or inclusions ect. It will be 3 kinds of steel 1084/203E/406E. I will draw the billet out and twist it and lathe turn it to approximent diameter. The bore will be gundrilled by possibly somebody else. If they cant get it straight I can glue a brownells liner in it. If they can get it straight and reamed to an existing calibur I may just leave it smooth. Heat treating wont be needed if I use the liner. After final turning it will then be proofed at 1.50% recommended charge.
