It looks to be every bit as terrific as I expected it to be, and then some. The beautiful checkering, bright nickel plating and gorgeous hand tooled sheath all combine to elevate what would otherwise still have been a very awesome knife. Bruce and friends - you've all done real good.

Not much longer to wait until this puppy heads east. ;)

Congratulations Roger-- knife and sheath are both masterpieces!

Very good. the whole package has kind of a pistol vibe to it what with the checkering and handle shape. Even the sheath looks a little bit like a holster.

Roger congratulations on a beautiful package. Bruce is doing some amazing work and this is surely a fine example. Enjoy it as it is a real treat.

Roger,

You have a beautiful knife.

This was a great thread the checkered handle and nickel plating really add alot to the overall package.

I enjoy Bruce's WIP threads, they show how much work he puts into making his knives.

where is the best place to get a checkering file?.....i checked brownells....way too high buck for one file!!

Wow, that's an outstanding piece in every regard. Congrats Roger, you should be very proud of that one.

I quite agree.

Thanks to all for your comments gents. And thanks to Bruce for another great WIP.

Man, I really do like Robin's leather work. If it "takes one to know one" then I'm telling you he is good from the core out. You just don't pull off something like that without YEARS of good concentrated experience behind you. 'Nuff said.

Got mine from Brownells and yes they are expensive. However if you take care of them they will last forever. Some have had good luck using a thread restoring file. They are a little less acute on the edge and might need a little clean up after you use it. What I would recommend is biting the bullet and buy one file at a time. That way it won't hurt quite so much.

As usual this is one exquisite piece. The nickle plate is way cool, and the leather and the steel and the handle.............. Everything about it just works.

that is stunning
tho for me im not sure abut all the checkering on the handle (still great looking)

so far as the files i got my one file from midwayusa its a gorbrek sp?
i use it to cut thumb grooves in the spines of my razors and knifes (never tryed wood or G10)

This has been a very good thread and another fine knife by Bruce . now where did I put that Brownells catalog

wonderfully rendered, but in the photos, the handle seems far too wide for the blade.

It seems like two design elements that are competing with each other.

My .02.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
