Most who know me know I am a dagger person. And I usually don't comment much anymore on any knives unless for good reason.
But I've always had high regard for Bruce's work, and not just for his gun knives. While stag is not my favorite handle material, it also wasn't favored for daggers by my favorite maker.
But this dagger, even with stag, has a visual impact on me as do many of the daggers in my collection. I judge this dagger with a Warenski collector's view. It affects me viscerally, as so many Warenski daggers have over the years.
The guard is simpler in shape but is embellished so perfectly (both quality and coverage) as to have the same impact. Same goes for the entire dagger embellishment. The Damascus is a plus in any comparison, adding complexity to the dagger's simple design. "Simple", but never easy to pull off a great dagger, and this one is both.
The pommel captures the Warenski look so well, and when combined with all other dagger details and features, still says "Bruce Bump".
I love it, Bruce. And cudos to Caleb for exposing all the features we need to see in superb detail.
