So, my (ultra-light hiking) friends laughed-off the Brunton Liberty lantern my wife got me for my birthday (when she got tired of hearing about how my mantles kept breaking in my pack). Apparently they prefer Euchre by headlamp.
So I figure if I'm going to carry extra weight (they must be rubbing-off on me), it should be for something I don't have to share. I'd like to trade my gently-used lantern for a 5"+ FB Camp knife.
I'd like something along the lines of: a Becker, Fallkniven, Ontario Rat, or SOG.
But, of course I'd love: a Swamp Rat or a BRKT.
