I'll admit I had some good fun on this one. A 1084 Brut de Forge, with sheep horn and a clay heat treatment.
Areas where the clay were, that were not finished out, reacted to the etch differently and gave the knife a whole new appearance I was not accustomed to.
Got some nice activity out of this 1084FG.

Sheep horn or stag... It's really taken me years to get over a lack of enthusiasm for those materials as acceptable... And it's knives like this that have helped turn my opinion around!!!

Nice looking knife, Karl!!!!

Very nice, Karl.....sheephorn has always been one of my favorites.

I'm a sucker for sheep horn.
Nice work, Karl!

That rough sheephorn flows well with the forge finish Karl, I really like this one!

Very nice, Karl. I'm glad it was you and not me that ground the sheep's horn to shape. I made one out of it around 12 years ago and I'm confident that it will be my last. I like it when it's finished but "whew". :barf:Not nice to grind on. :DIt smells like it comes from the other end of the billy goat (or sheep).

Love the sheephorn and rough finish. I like how you flattened out the choil on that, I am sure its comfortable to hold and use. Very nice job Karl.
