Ok theres not nearly enough Brute threads around this place. I picked up this Camillus 'new' Brute a couple weeks ago. I must be getting old, my idea of new appears to differ from the doorknob I got it from and we had to have a bit of monetary reimbursement discussion. I'm not into safe queens and I still have some stripper left sooooo.....
Add one part Brute

Been in the fridge for about 30 hours, The wife says it stinks. I told her its a Brute they all stink like that.
It's not quite dark enough yet, but I have an idea I want to try out tomorrow or the next day on it. In the meantime its being convexed to remove some of those fancy 'factory' dents and burrs. I'll update when it gets out of its experimental bath process.

I do believe that is going to be an awesome looking knife. Great job.

P.s. I have a new 1976 pinto, don't worry they all came from the factory like this,

What B.S. I'm sorry that guy did that to you. Good luck trying to recoup some greenbacks.

Damn I love the way the brute looks.....looks even better stripped, very nice..

Strip it!! Get some fancy micarta = happiness. Sometimes it takes me 5 minutes of staring to decide if I want the brute or machax for the day. I'm thinking of trying Clich's gun blue and bleach patina on the 4 but I have to find a container big enough first.

That was a new Brute. I think they all came with scratches like that. :D

I never gained a liking for the brutes look, but stripped the lines really stand out and make it much more interesting

I usually like medium sized knives, I dunno why I like the Brute so much but it goes everywhere. If someone ever breaks in at night I would have a hard time deciding whether to shoot or Brute them....................first.

Those scales are not for it, but they are spalted applewood. I was using them to prop things up lol. I have some micarta for it but they need to be sanded and fitted a tad better, I have the same prob with the machax where the handles are slightly different. I will get some new pics up soon I've been buried under a ton of work lately

Yeah that Brute is no good. I think maybe you should send it off to me, and I'll take care of it for you. Free of charge of course.

No no no I had to wait quite awhile to find one and i haven't got to bash anything with it yet:D

Ok its currently in the bath again, I got a little carried away on the convexing and had to redo the patina. I actually had time to get the pattern done for a sheath for it. That's kind of exciting for me since I have exactly 1 of my own sheaths, All I've ever had time to build.
