I was doing some more research and you SHOULD make a hawk!

Take a look at some of these designs from American Kami:

Since it's not full tang, 1) you would only need a few rivets to hold on the head and 2) obtaining steel should easy since you won't need a whole sheet for the tang. Pair that with your fat orange liner/black micarta handles, clean grinds, frosty finish, stupid sharp edge, and I think we have a winner!

What do you think?

Those are the chainring bolts I was telling you about this morning. I have some ideas for a cool hawk. It has been a work-in-progress in my noggin for some time. Just have to really make it a reality. Thinking more along the lines of 3V for the head. Titanium with G10/CF for the handle.

Why don't you just buy one from American Kami? I have several of his knifes, they are great.

Met the guy several years back at Blade and he is very nice guy. I told him that I dug a lot of his unique designs and grinds. I am sure that his knives are great and happy to hear that you enjoy them. As a consumer you get to pick and choose where you want to spend your money. That is the beauty of a free market.

This is a thread about the possibility of a BT Hawk.

Ill be the odd man out and say those Kamis look a little rediculous. I guess Im more a classic kinda guy when it comes to hawks.

AK's designs are cool and inspired me to make my own compact hawk, however I only started this thread to motivate Ban to make his own interpretation of a hawk, not necessarily purchase one (anytime soon at least). Just think it'll be fun to see him take on a new project and see where his creativity and imagination takes him.

I don't frequent this forum at all and just saw this thread on the front page, but yes, you TOTALLY NEED to make a hawk like this! (Except, of course, without the ridiculous hollow ground chisel edge). I'd be in to buy one or two. Now I'll be checking in this forum to look for updates on your idea. Cheers!

Its still just an idea at this point folks. Still have quite a few knives to crank out before I even start on a project like this. I did order some steel chain ring bolts last night in case I wanted to make one sooner ;)

hahah

I'm so in, if you do Ban!

...BIG fan of full-tang though...
