Blade is made from 22 layer suminagashi with blue paper core approx 3/16ths thick. Blade is wrapped with authentic Japanese Ito cord , same kawa and menuki , all imported from Japan. The overall length is almost 13 inches, cutting edge is about 9 inches. Ito knots are authentic Japanese, not glued on para cord ...

Is there any sheath or guard for this knife? and pardon my ignorance, but what is a blue paper core? I know what san mei is... kc.w.
 
To me this was more of a display piece so I never got a sheath for this blade. I was going to put it on a display stand like this (see below). The blue paper core is a hard Japanese steel, which is in the center of the blade and then layered with softer steel around the outside. You will find this in high end Japanese kitchen blades.

Research this a little and you will see that at $190 this is a steal !!!! :eek:

Can't believe I'm doing this, but here's another price drop to $170 !!!! and free shipping in CONUS!!!!

That's another 20 bucks off, and if nobody wants it for $170 total including delivery to your door, then I guess I will hang on to it. :confused:
