Whether you are just starting out or are an old pro:), this grinding jig will produce better grinds, faster and with more freehand control than anything you have ever tried.

The USPS has raised their overseas flat rate shipping by 40 percent which makes it financially impractical for us to continue free overseas shipping. We will instead offer 9.95 shipping anywhere in the world. US shipping will still be free.

I purchased one of these from Fred a while back and have finally had a chance to start trying it out. It's really well made and the design is just ingenious. Very simple to use, and by the time I was using it on a second knife it was starting to feel very natural and became much easier to use. I really like that I can adjust the platen to an angle that's comfortable for me and allows me to see the edge well. The angle pieces set the angle relative to the platen, so it doesn't matter where you have the platen adjusted. Everything is really well machined. You barely have to loosen the bolt that secures the bubble to be able to adjust it, and when it's tightened up the bubble doesn't move at all. With the clamp on I can place the edge of it right at the edge of the platen to start and the lines stay very even and crisp.

I've had a couple of questions and Fred has been really quick to respond and is very helpful. For a newb like me this tool is especially valuable and I highly recommend it.

Something I forgot to mention Fred. Your clamp works great to leave on the blade after getting the flats established with the bubble. After I am done with the bubble I leave the clamp on. I continue to place the side of the clamp right at the edge of my platen when starting to grind. The lines stay really crisp and are perfectly even from side to side.

I honestly think if most folks went and got a piece of cheap weld steel from Lowes or Home Depot to practice with your Bubble Jig they would be amazed how quickly it becomes natural. It really is an ingenious system.
