Buck 110 & 112 users only

I wouldn't say that the 110 is prone to tip breakages. They are simply very thin ground for the best possible slicing performance, which they should be. As long as they are used for their intended purpose, and not for prying or use as a screw driver you won't have any issues.

This makes me miss my 110. I gave it to a buddy who had no knife experience. I'm going to get another ASAP! It was my first "nice" knife at about age 13. I've never broken one or had much blade play, just good experiences. I used it to help build debris huts, carve feather sticks, food prep, general tasks around the house, and to break down boxes when I worked in a warehouse years ago. Tough, reliable, reasonably priced.

I'm kinda shocked that you don't have one. I would have bet cash money that you had at least one, and at least 20 years old. What is the world coming too?

My first one was over 35 years ago. I'm going to get one today!
