Ordered a 110 auto, described as double action with leather vs nylon sheath. Three weeks later I received a single action with a nylon sheath. Rick called no less than six times in a row (number was "Restricted" and my phone is set up to not even ring on those). No voicemails left. He then replied to my email (I wanted a "paper trail" of our conversation) and gave me a never ending stream of excuses as to why the version I got was "better" and that leather sheaths were no longer shipping with the knives from Buck. I am an NFA dealer and routinely purchase Bucks unmodified wholesale for sale in the shop, they haven't stopped shipping leather sheaths but it is an additional cost and a different part number. Rick didn't agree to take the knife back until I started the dispute process with my card company. I'm out $11 return shipping and the heartburn of dealing with this knob. He was pretty pushy in trying to get me to keep this knife. I explained that I really wanted a double action and a leather sheath which was exactly why I chose to buy it from his site. When I didn't get what I wanted I was dissatisfied with my purchase and asked to return for a refund after it was discovered that it was no mistake and there was no way he was going to send me the advertised version. Just an inexhaustible list of used car salesman reasons why this knife was far superior to the double action versions and he would mail me a leather sheath to "make it right".
"Hi Mike,
Just tried to call you back.
The best Buck automatics, which is the one you received,
are not being produced in double action.
Reason being is the double action ones are not as well made as this is.
We only deal is the best quality Buck autos and you will find no better one anywhere than this version.
Also, they have been coming from Buck with nylon sheaths, so I apologize for that.
Would be happy to ship you out a leather one to make it right.
Thanks,
Rick"
