For years I have thought of geeting a 110 custom from the Buck shop. May just do it this summer. So how about some custom 110 pictures to get me thinking. I only own two 110s and carry both. A stag AG and a regular 110.

I hope these are good enough for a start! ;)

Some walnut/NS, cherrywood/NS, and a cherrywood/brass

Yep thats a good start. That walnut and ns is what I was considering withs30v.

Heres some old pics I took in different lighting. I need to retake these with my newer camera. I will work on that this next week. I really like the walnut myself ;)

I wonder if future custom shop 110s with S30V blades will have the BOS stamp on them.

Brass and cherry does look good together,I was thinking brass and rams horn would look good also.

Here are the few CS 110's in my bunch kyhunt. The CS put's out some nice knives, just make sure you talk with them on the phone to get what you want!

That important question should be part of the phone call when anybody orders a custom from Buck.

Apparently they've been etching instead of stamping some knives.....which makes the knives look cheap and ...... FAKE.

So, if that matters to you, you must talk to them and find out exactly what's going on.

As far as I know, the BOS logo will be on the S30V......but you might get an etch instead of a stamp.

Buck has been vague so far as to just what the hell is going on.

It would be nice to hear from them, but I doubt that we will.

Oh really? Why the etch instead of stamping? Is this going on with their regular 110s or just the customs?

So far it appears to be just premium steels.....at least as far as I know.

I'm hoping they come to their senses.

I just took delivery on an S30V and oak custom. The fit 'n finish is perfect and I couldn't be happier. Of note however, is that the blade stamps are no longer 'stamps', they are laser etched. Mine came with the Bos stamp (er...etch).

To me that is just unacceptable.....looks cheap.

I'm also under the impression that the 420HC blades from the Custom Shop will NOT have the custom shop stamp, but will be stamped just like any 110 you'd buy at Wal-Mart.

So current Custom Shop 110s are not going to have the old-fashioned Custom Shop stamps no matter what you do.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think you are wrong, BG. :(

I have noticed this trend on other newer Buck knives and I must admit that I feel mildly disappointed. I am assuming that the laser etch is a necessary cost reduction measure, but I would pay another $5 for a proper stamp. It won't stop me from buying custom shop goodies, but I think that like so many things today, we have taken a step backward.

Edit - I just took another look at the blade and it is not exactly like other laser etched Bucks that I own. This etch has shiny sides on the lettering, which makes me think it may be a diamond etch.
