Buck 110 Factory Problem

This has little to do with the thread, BUT it is something that all should be aware of, especially those out of the US. Buck is selling there factory seconds and are not stamping or marking second on the knife. The only thing you see is the letters FS on the box label. So be aware of someone selling a knife that is a second but is only marked so on the box.....no box and a untruth and you have a second.

Hello all from Greece. I just bought a brand new 110 in S30V with G-10 handles. I consider myself a knife collector and i understand that there are some quality control issues at every mass produced product outhere. But it is my first folder i bought that has so off-center blade -so much so that the blade touches the liner when closed. What do you recomment to do, given the fact that here in Greece we don't have large retailers (in order to see-before-you-buy) but we shop only online. The knife was bought online by a finnish shop.

Hi petrioohan,
Welcome to the Buck forum...
If your 110 is hitting the sides when you close it, send to Buck for repairs. You'll find the Warranty Repair form on their website.

You're posting on a thread that's 5 years old. It's always better to start a new thread.

Again Welcome!!!

Ufff ... I was thinking about buying that model in that store. When I decided to buy I went to the website of the store and saw that the model had run out. That unit would have been for me, I imagine.
I feel your bad luck

Send it back and get a refund and order from another retailer.
Or call buck and see what they can do for you.

I guess you could try putting the blade between two pieces of wood and then in a vice up to the bolster. Then pull on the handle slowly with effort. I would certainly try that before sending the knife in all the way from Greece. But that's me...

If it locks open with no play and your happy with the rest of the knive then just use it. Whether or not the blade rests against the frame when closed is strictly visual and has no bearing on the function of the knife.

Kinda funny how folks see things different ways. Over the past year I've bought about 15 standard 110's, including some pros. All of them were perfect. Clean, strait, centered. Just nice.

I've also bought a few CS knives over that time. I wish I could say the same for them...

Pete
