WOW:eek: check it out on the $-bay, it's at $1500.00 with 30 minutes to
go, there should be some bidding action in the last 30 minutes, any guess on
how high it'll go? this will be interesting.

Considering the prices that other collectables are bringing in there field, that is not an outrages price. I see bear traps selling for thousands, duck decoys auctioned off at tens of thousands. The buyer of this knife bought a piece of American History and a work of art. I only wish I had the dough to have been in the bidding on the knife.

I wish it was me:D I guess a 110 collection that lacks First and Second Versions....is better than no 110 collection at all:p

THAT 110 will be worth a great deal more than that in another 50 years, would love to see That auction!

I would love to be a fly on that wall when the wife asks.
...Sure glad I ain't no "collector"...as it is I may be re-directin' my buyin' habits more towards the Buck "METRO"... :p :p  :p  ( jus' watch their prices skyrocket...LOL:rolleyes: )

I miss the time when we could post about what is on the bay. Like the red, white, and blue 110.
To me, that is a beautiful knife.
Yankee Doodle...

So much for polished bolsters having a negative effect on older knives. :o I think I'll continue to keep mine nice and shiny! :)

 Me too!! I like 'em that way! OOOOoooo shiney :D

That's exactly what my last girlfriend said! "Ooh, I get to ride in a shiny new sports car!!!"... :D

(It's actually a 21 year old Vette, but who am I to argue???)

So posting comments about things up for bis is not allowed? I read the bladeforum FAQ and it is pretty vague about it.

We got nun-slapped a bit for watching an item and treating it like a horse race a few months ago Messy. We aren't supposed to even mention a auction until it is ended, an auction site ("the auction site that starts with a vowel"), or (IIRC) the link to a web store that sells stuff. (someone might be able to find the post from the cyber-fuzz).

So, since the auction has ended...here is that Yankee Doodle 110 I referenced above. I would've have gone up to $100 for it. I'm not partial to stone inlays (though I still have that POS "burl" stone one). But this recent one is quite nice: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330082216252&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014

Now Messy, for your Monday lesson: "don't ask, don't tell". Repeat that five times. ;)

I know the fella that done that thar 110, he does good work. he posts on AAPK, nice fella too.
