Now after you got your 110, you'll need to have a 112 —

Armenate, I think is one of the best american folding hunter you can buy. I´d had one years ago but I could´t resist the temptation to buy this Buck 110 50th anniversary. It´s really heavy and strong but versatile. It has a real black leather sheath. The price is good enough and think you will not regret to buy this folder.
Here are some pics of mine.

Carry mine everyday in the oilfield. I'm 280lbs so 7 oz knife isn't going to kill me haha. Warranty is outstanding also.

Go for it. The 110 will do anything a folding knife of it's size could expected to do.
The only drawback to some is that it is not designed for one hand openinG.
Whatever on that.

Here are some pics of the knife I ended up buying. Thanks so much for all the input. It feels like a great knife and I will definently be using it.IMG_20141227_195023103.jpgIMG_20141227_195037045.jpgIMG_20141227_195030570_HDR.jpg

Glad you got one, Armenate. You'll wonder how you ever got by without one, whether you carry it daily or rarely.

And while everybody has seemingly agreed that it isn't good for pocket carry, I've recently taken to doing exactly that with mine without any real issues. It seems to go extremely well in the pocket of a pair of Carhartt's.

It is a nearly perfect knife to just fondle, yet stands up to a lot of tough tasks.

Congrats, Armante. You got a good knife. You know because....

you'll never see 50 of 50 positive posts about another single knife here.

It's an alright knife but It's always amusing how there's never a thread about the 110, what there's not someone crowing it's so tough and probably the strongest folder ever made. Just not so, it has no threads on it's pivot and it's lock back certainly isn't nearly as strong as many other modern locks on folders. I have two of the 50 year 110's and while they are nice for the price paid and will stand up to many cutting tasks they are far from the strongest folders made and I think many consider weight to equal great strenght. Not so it's merely heavy and it's non-threaded pivot and simple lock back put it way out of the running today as being close to the strongest folder made, even in it's budget price range.

I have a few of the 110 and an old Schrade LB7 which is identical. Great knives for the price. The 110 was my first folder back in the 80s. I agree with others who say everyone should own at least one.
