Buck 110 or 102BR

Finally done. :D

Tried all three - 102 black, too narrow the blade for my taste; 119 black, nice knife all around, don't see much opportunities to take it outside my home, though; and finally...

I am happily settled with the good, old 110!

Nicely balanced, great materials (Brass, wood and steel), fits hands perfectly.. I did second thought on it being a folder, but by 110's solid locked up, it truly delivers enough confidence to me when holding it - it's a folding fixed blade. All those plus the option of easy EDC.

The thing is, this is my second 110 (got the one with the Idaho stamp on the blade), sold the last one earlier this year... careless mistake. Now I know this knife is simply too good to let go, everybody should have one.

If there's anything positive that I've got through the sale of my first 110.. it would be the chance it gave me that now I know how good a knife it is.

Buy one today if u don't have it yet. :D Thanks for all the suggestions, too, gang. :D

It's a Buck, a classic, nice material, solidly built, with a tough, quality leather sheath - and all for $40 CAD. Nothing can go wrong with that, mate.

Thanks to this thread, I ended up checking out the 102BR and just got it today. Looks and feels great. The 119BR is next and hopefully some of the other classic fixed blade models can be gotten as a "BR" as well.

This is an older thread but I was wondering how Tok is doing with the 110 and if he ever got a 102BR.
The 110 is my all time favorite blade, but my I really like my 110BR for all the reasons stated previously.
Later Gators...

BTW, Thanks to LFH for the ice chest tip for keeping the 110 "fresh".

Hi mfinden, no I don't have the 112 or 119 still, I end up getting myself one more 110 last mth. :D Now I have one for use and one for storage. Both with Idaho stamps. You gotta love the 110.

Not trying to confuse anybody here, but if I was hunting again, I would carry the Vangard w/rubber grip handle. Great knife as well as all the others mentioned in this thread.

I guess it's all about choices and appropriate use.

Yeah, I like my 692T as well. It is my only rubberized Buck and, sadly, takes a back seat to my 110 or 111 3dot .

I treat it like a red headed step child...don't take it out much for show, have it doing all the heavy work, and then I toss it in my saddle bag or tool bin when it's done with it's chores.

Have had it for about 3 years and it is a great knife...if I was going serious in country for more than a few days it most likey would join me. If I had to chose just one blade for that journey, that I currently own, it would be the Vanguard w/ rubbah Bruddah!!!! Has never slipped grip, tough as hell, and gets 'er done!!!
Me.
