Buck 110 or Gerber EZ Out for EDC

Personally, for EDC, I'd go with a Buck 55. It's half the knife a 110 is! ;) But then again, I live in a big city and am a smaller pocketknife kind of guy.

Do you guys think that the Buck 110 would be good for hunting if I use it for my EDC? Obviously it would be kept razor sharp.

I should've mentioned this before, but the reasont hat these two are my choses are that I already own them.

Lastly, would it be wise to carry a nice SAK (probably the spartan) around at the same time?

Buck 110 is a classic all around out-doors knife , it will work fine for hunting and fishing and most everything else you throw at it. Of course make sure you clean the heck out of it if you clean some fish or game , being a folder. :)
A lot of peoeple hate Gerber , cant blame them much since Gerber's quality has gone downhill , however I use two as EDC , a older MT and an older EZ OUT. I like my EZ because it was cheap , it has always cut good and I could care less if I lose it or break it , if I do I'm out 20 bones. No big deal. In the four years I have had it the blade is still pretty sturdy considering how much I have used it , not sure how the ones made now will differ.

I know a gun dealer in CA that used to use a mid 70's 110 to dress his deer. His theory was that when it was time to resharpen it was time for a rest and a beer.

You could compromise and get yourself one of the Bucklite models, best of both worlds.

Another option if you want to cut the weight and bulk a little is go to a Buck 112, I kinda like the finger groove model although mine is the regular style.

Of the two, the Buck 110 is a better knife. But it's darn heavy, and a bit large for a pants pocket. How about a Spyderco Delica for EDC? Lightweight like the EZOut, durable, and in the same price range.

Now for hunting, the blade of the 110 is great, but I would prefer a fixed blade. Most folders can't be disassembled for cleaning. Some can, but not the 110. If you want a Buck knife, Vangard or Special would be good for deer.

Happy shopping,
Bob

i vote for a Buck 110, or an Alpha Hunter.
