Has anyone ever done one of these, and if its ok would any of you be up for a pass around?I am fairly new here, but would love to start a pass around ,as a matter of fact i'll supply the knife for this one.

I have a custom shop nickel /sambar stag/bg-42 that is begging to be put to work,if anyone would like to take part, lets get the ball rolling. All i ask is a quick post/review here before you send the knife to the next particapant.

I want to see some opinions on this super steel, after you've tried it for yourself!thanks:thumbup:

I'd participate in that. My only concern is that I cannot in good faith sharpen the knife after I use it because I have very little experience with sharpening. In fact, I uglied up a blade recently while trying to keep the angle steady while using a diamond sharpener. :( If that doesn't disqualify me you can count me in. If that does DQ me, well, that's a fair conclusion.

I'd love to take part in a test of this kind. I have never used BG-42 and would like to do a comparison with my AG S30V.

LOL.NO,I haven't been drinking, and i suspect that the knife will stay sharp long enough that sharpening might not be needed for each user,so those who are not satisfied with their own sharpening skills may be able to still send the knife on to the next person still sharp!A few more and we will get some addresses and start this passaround up!Anyone else?

Sounds like fun. I'd be happy to fondle one for a day or two and then pass it along. I'll even include one of my custom made 110 knife "holsters" for you fellers to look at. Custom fitted to the "Pass-around knife" of course. Would that be OK?

The only downside is that if the knife is not used until the edge dulls and needs to be sharpened, one is not going to get a feel for how well it holds an edge. If it is indeed sharpened along its journey, simply by the very nature of the beast, each person that sharpens it will put different included edge angles on it.

A very kind gesture on your part RAZORBLADES.

Makes sense. And it was a very kind gesture.

If you're lucky, 9 out of 10 guys will treat the knife with respect. But all it takes is that one idiot that won't, & God only knows what condition your knife may come back in. It's a nice gesture yes, but one you could very much end up regretting with a nice knife like that.
I wouldn't do it, but like I said, to each his own.

Especially if Guy 10 doesn't send it back.

Do you guys really think that anyone who reads this forum would be that juvenile? I would like to think that those who post here are above using the Pass Around any differently then they would one of their own. OK, I understand this is a fairly valuable knife and I personally don't even have anything comporable to it and this would be the only way to really get my hands on one for a few days. So, how would you feel about doing the same thing with just a standard, nothing fancy, knife? The idea being not so much to evaluate but to build comradship around a common interest. Make it policy that if you join the Pass Around, you carry the knife for a few days, use it as you would your own, take a couple photos of yourself and the knife in settings according to where you live and doing the things you do and include this scrap book in the package when it's passed on. Could also include a trinket or souvenir from your area and then as the package comes around again, so we can all see the pictures, take a trinket and replace with another. Then we'd be able to put faces to names, see locations and add some little inexpensive gift to our collection of "stuff". Just grazing. If this is too far out, just ignore it. It was a wonderful gesture, however!

Hey Guys I Dont Own A Computer But I Usually Check This Site Every Day At Work. I Would Love To Take Part In The Pass Around. Keep Me Informed As To What You Need From Me.

I'd still do it. Though, I must confess I'd like to see it done a time or two before I (acquire and then) offer up one of my knives.

I finished reading the list of rules to follow when starting a passaround, and i was not aware of the conditions we must follow, but most of them sound like
great ideas.I was quite surprised to see negative comments ,coming from a group like this i would never expect my knife to find a new home with a particapant, but i guess we never know.I also looked into customs, and i would have to pay duty on my own knife when it comes back.lol,so i guess its a no-go ,sorry everyone.
