Hi all,
I usually stick to what I know with knives but found this Buck 110 today for sale at a local shop for $40 and picked it up. Looks like it's a 1980-81 according to the date chart. I know the 110 is the most famous of their models so just curious if this older one is rare at all or collectable, or did I overpay and it's common? Thanks for any advice!

Nice that's great to know! I'll definitely send it in, didn't know they do that for older models as well. Was nervous to get it since I know nothing about them but figured might as well try for the price. Thank you!

Nice looking knife! A true classic that everyone should own!

I'd send it to Buck for their Spa Treatment to clean it up, put a proper edge on it, and make it almost like new!

You did real well , a lot of 3 dot collectors all over the world. Here's a link for the Spa., read it carefully and you'll be amazed with what they send back.

2 or 3 weeks ago I picked up an 84 buck 119 randomly as well, don't think I'll push my luck anymore though, going to get too confident and way over pay for something next 😆

skyhorse skyhorse can I send in the 119 I have as well? It's around the same age as the 110 but whoever had it sharpened the edge rly poorly. Will they clean the edge up or is it toast at this point? The edge looks worse in person

Already Have the page printed and going to send them both tomorrow. Really appreciate the advice and comments from you all! I feel alot better about getting it now

yeah, buck literally paved the way for the entire industry (at least for the western hemisphere)... if it wasn't for them, places like spyderco might not exist...
and without that happening, we'd have far far fewer options and variety in todays world

imho, they established that you could charge a premium price for a premium knife
the rest of the world listened and today we have a really diverse ecosystem

...looking forward to the post-spa pics : )

Absolutely , send them both and note exactly what would like them to do. If there is something you want to leave as is , note that as well. They must employ magic elves in the Buck spa. :)

I would have a hard time with your knife. The blade is not full. It has wear at the belly. I think it’s $7 for the spa. For $10 you can have a new blade and the spa. But it won’t have a 3 dot blade anymore
