Buck 110 steel?

Mr. Culpeper, Sir, some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing. Since your looking at a Bear with 1095 damascus blade your obviously not planning on using it. For I'd stack a Buck up against that any day. Especially, those w/ 425, 440C, 154CPM and S30V blade steel, which can be purchased anywhere.(not only at the custom shop) These will out perform 1095 hands down. You should look at, who carries the better guarentee, conducts far better heattreating and places superior craftsmanship into the package? This is about more than merely, price and pretty. Then make an informed decision. DM

The 110's w/ these steels may be purchased for less than the monies you quoted while delivering to its owner over the next 25-30yrs. flawless preformance. Now, thats economy and value sir! DM

No, I would use a Bear & Son Damascus knife. I have one of their Bowie Damascus and it is nice usable Damascus and not too expensive. Nevertheless, as a result of my post I got plenty of information on how to get a 110 with other steel types and that is fine with me. But I'm still wondering if that scroll work on that 440C 110 I have coming was done by Buck or not?

No offense but the guarantee keeps coming up as a sermon to the choir. I don't care about the guarantee. This isn't Sears. You seem to be quoting yourself.

Before the Custom Shop is up and running? OR the Custom shop web page is up and running? Thanks!

We didn't talk about the website. We only discussed when getting a custom knife might be possible. Right now they aren't taking orders for custom work. They're shooting for the end of May. I told him I would check back during the summer.

Sir, look and read. How can I quote myself when I only spoke of it one time?
Whereas I see you post a quote each time to use reason???
Don't feel challenged I'll not attempt to inform or educate you.
It's a free country you may choose. DM

With a lifetime warranty from Buck I think that a non stainless blade would be very difficult! Try any one of them ;) You might be surprised;) (or not :D)

Maybe ,but isn't the damascus a carbon steel?maybe thats why they don't offer it anymore?

Look at Post #21. What's your problem anyway? I would be more careful. Or you might find yourself a "bone to be chewed when the 'Gales of November' come early". There be pirates about.

As for your original question. Cabela's sells the 110 Alaskan Guide in S30V.

Yeah, I like that knife a lot. Especially with a stag handle. Very nice.

Here it is...
