Buck 110 switchblade

I can carry half a dozen handguns if I want......but not a switchblade.

Go figure.

:D

thats what i found hilarious in Alaska, I was going to wear my bowie knife on a back sling and my friend hands me a pistol and said to carry this or you'll get in trouble with the police! :D

...now, every knife lover should have at least one switchblade.

I agree:D.

Here's my one(I've posted this pic before:)) Really like it, double action and a 560:thumbup:. Can't carry it here but can own it. Preston

Well, it is true that you attract attention (and perhaps harassment) with a big Bowie, but it wouldn't be illegal where I am.......the switchblade, however, will put you in jail, while the Bowie will not.

I can open my folding Kalinga Pro as fast as any switchblade......so, what's the fascination with power equipment anyhow? Just one more thing to go wrong.

I think the laws against switchblades are anachronistic and incredibly stupid in a world where every gangbanger can have an Uzi or a AK47.

But these are the simple notions of a simple old man.

Well I wore the bowie up under my jacket most of the time when we were out and about, but I agree with you 100% about others opening just as quick without the mechanisms...and if a cop interprets the law the way I have you can get into hot water for those too:

...or is ejected into position by the force of gravity or by an outward, downward or centrifugal thrust or movement;

Sounds like majority of newer liner and frame locks out there...my buck 279T takes a slight wrist flick and its open.

Guess I'm safe......around here they have to open automatically......which is an odd choice of words.

I guess that would be a knife that opened by itself whenever you needed to cut something.

:)

The switchblade laws are mostly from the days when people had ducktail haircuts, wore black leather jackets, carried zip guns and smoked reefers.

This is the auto that Joe was talking about. It is/was obviously a fake when I bought it, just out of curiosity, and to compare to my few other auto 110's.

The blade is sloppy loose side to side and some up and down. The action is slow and the finish on the brass is not that great.

It lives here on the desk as a letter opener for lack of anything better to do with it.
