Buck 110 with a pocket clip?

View attachment 521741 On the 560 Titanium models, you drill and tap right into the handle to mount a pocket clip. On the plastic handled knives, you need to install Helicoils to anchor the pocket clips.

First I align myself with BG42EDGE, I don't like aftermarket alterations to my Buck knives. If Buck didn't make em that way then I'm nit interested. Second, I'm surprised no one has given the easiest solution to the problem. Buck made a 110 with a pocket clip and a thumb stud. I'm sure you can still find one. It was the Lochsa model in the 110 50th anniversary set. A little pricey, but if that's what you want it's out there.

Ah, as I said......don't mind me. I'm hopelessly prejudiced on the matter.

Yes, even the contemporary version of the 110 IS a classic (even though it may be slightly different from the earlier and probably somewhat better versions).

If you think you can improve upon it......go for it. You just won't get my vote.

:)

You do realize that one of the latest custom 110's that Buck came out with late last year included g10 scales and a pocket clip.

Mike, that's a good looking 110 that they came out with...
That's the only one I liked out of the 4...

Thanks for sharing it... ITE ... :)

The problem with the Lochsa that I see on the few pictures I found on line is that when closed, the lock bar doesn't sit flush with the back of the knife. It sticks up on one end, and it is sunk in on the other end. I don't know if that is true with all the Lochsa's, but I don't want to spend $200 to find out. Personally, I think they designed it like that on purpose to make it easier to flip it open. If someone has one, I would love to find out if theirs is like that too.

Good info here at thread end. But, when you drag up a thread with 2011, 2012 and 2013 postings here into the 2015s you bring out folks who have pasted on and some even have been banned from Bladeforums. So, weigh carefully the need for the old data, if your just going to ask a question, do just that, start a new thread and ask you question. Or learn to post a link back to the old thread and those that want to see it will go read it.

You will get just as good of answers without disturbing the spirits. Just saying.

Agreed that's why I bought the lochsa, but I can't bring myself to edc this knife. I carried it once so far so I could show it to my brother in law.
I have been thinking about putting a clip on a 110 myself. I don't carry sheaths for the reason that they are too conspicuous with knife laws what they are.

I like the clip on the Lochsa but I personally consider the thumb stub to be completely non-functional.

I saw a video about that thumbstud.... it doesn't work in the normal way, but......
push forward on the stud, towards the front of the handle.
