Buck 110 with nylon sheath.....

How long have the nylon buck 110 sheaths been available.? Nylon gets fuzzy and looks like crap after time. Personally I like the leather. But I agree nylon is more comfortable in the beginning.

I'm a convert too. I EDC my 112 Ecolite in a nylon sheath, worn horizontally. I forget it's there! When the sheath wears out (and it will) I'll just get another.

Not sure how long they've been out.
My oldest one is roughly 4 or 5 years old, and has been worn pretty much 24/7 every day since I got it.
Still no fuzzies or broken threads, and the snap still works as well as when it was new.

(I just compared the snap to the snap on an unworn Buck 110 nylon sheath, so I would not tell a fib; no perceptible difference.)

A little of the black on the snap has worn off, but that's it. IMHO, that's not a big deal. Others may disagree, of course. :)

Boy I would of thought you die hards were leather fans. But I get it.

I prefer leather, to be honest. It's more traditional.
I have a custom leather sheath on order with the local Leatherwright, that will allow me to carry both a 110 or 112 and a 301 on my belt.
I'll pick it up on the 1st. :)

I wish that Buck had a sheath for the 110 like the one for the original Bucklites. It is made of lightweight nylon pack cloth, and hangs low on one's belt.
It closes at the top with velcro.

I had the velcro in mine replaced at the post tailor shop here in Korea in 2012. I have had this knife since about 1983 or 1984. Same sheath.

I prefer leather for the Buck 110/112 (traditional knife in a traditional sheath) and nylon for the Bucklite's - modern materials in a modern pouch. OH

Update:
He did not like the way the first one came out, (too stiff, or something) so he put it into the dumpster.
The improved version will be ready either Tuesday or Wednesday. :)

I had very little faith in the nylon sheath, so when I got stuck with one I used it for work figured I'd trash it quickly and throw it away.
It's been over a year and it is still holding up. Color me shocked.

Another year later still using it everyday to work. Still looks and works good.

I started using it sometime in 2016!

I used to hate that Wally’s 110 came with nylon sheaths. Would go elsewhere to get them with the leather. Used to mildly complain about the cheap nylon.
Then i got the 110LT and wow its so light. I forget i’m carrying a 110 on my belt.
Then i tried my original 110 in the nylon and i have seen the light. And felt the light too!
So only complaint is Wally’s 110’s now come with leather. Someone must have complained? Lol.....:p

The distressed leather sheath is my favorite. There are times I use the nylon too, for me it’s best use is with the LT’s.

It is nice to have all these options. I find when at work i go light as possible. I don’t want to feel like I’m carrying a knife. But out an about or a family get together I’m going distressed leather and 4 dot 110FG or 112FG.

When did Finger Grooves come out on the Buck 110? Is there any difference in fit into a sheath between a knife with finger grooves than a knife without finger grooves? Trying to find out if the finger grooves make it hang up?
