buck 110

The blade swaps at the custom shop to BG 42 is one of the best deals in the knife world, IMHO. My 110 in BG42 is as sharp (or sharper) than any custom that I've ever owned, keeps it's edge a looooong time, and re-sharpens in a jiff.

You can't go wrong here.

I got my 110 in 83-84, still working fine. I think I paid about $25.00 at Service Merchandise. The price looks better at Wally World 2 decades later, and the Buck 110 is one of the few items Wal-Mart offers that is NOT made in China...LOL!

I agree, great knife. Mine used to belong to my grandfather and other than its early date stamp it doesn't show its age at all. As for one hand opening I open the blade slightly with my fingers then catch the tip pf the blade on my belt to pop it open. I also remember an old issue of knives illustrated that had an article about how others used to put a matchstick in the handle to keep the blade slightly open, then they'd catch the tip of the blade on their back pocket when pulling it out. If memory serves me it was a similar concept to the modern wave.
