Greetings Buck Fans,

I bought a 111 on eBay and the picture didn't show, nor did the seller mention that both scales have some serious dings in the aluminum. The blade is perfect, but the damages scales just ruin it. Is there a way to repair or replace the damage...? Thanx

Bear,

First off welcome to the forums!
I do not know of a way to fix the dings but sometimes a good buffing will at least hide them some. Too bad the seller did not mention something about the condition of the handles in the auction.
YOu can, if you want, send the knife in to us for a refurbish and Edge 2000 treatment. Send a copy of this post and $5.00 to Buck and we will do what we can for the knife. Make sure you write a note stateing what you want done.

Hope this helps,

Thanx for the Welcome Joe.

The damage to the aluminum is too severe to cover up with a buffing, and both scales need to be replaced. Since the 111 hasn't been produced in a while I doubt new ones are an option. I just figured it wouldn't hurt to see what other folks thought. This knife won't be used, is there a reason to "Edge 2K" it? What is Edge 2K treatment? This blade is a 4 dot without any date symbol, so I'm assuming it's older than 1986. Thanx again...

Bear,

Welcome to the forums! If it's not too late, I believe I would notify the seller and get a refund.

Thanx John, this transaction took place more than a year ago and it was one of my first experiences with eBay. I use it as a reminder that you can't always depend on the seller to give you accurate and complete details...I was hoping that a set of 111 handle slabs might be lying around somewhere to replace my dinged up ones...
