Buck 112 Drop Points

I asked this in a different thread, but I don't think anyone saw it... Do knives roll out from the catalog at specific times or its based on proprietary information? Was wondering if the knives listed in the 2022 catalog (like the anniversary 112's) are all available pretty early on in 2022 or will be rolled out throughout the year?
I know it probably depends on the the company and the industry since car models for the upcoming year are released the end of the previous calendar year, but was more curious than anything.

I had to come back and take another look..Buck HAS TO give us the option of a drop point in the Custom shop. Even just 420..but I would pay a lot for one in S35VN and even more for a S45VN . I really think Buck would would sell more Custom 112's if they gave us the choice. I would probably order at least 4 a year more if I had the choice of mirror polished super steels.

You’re not wrong.

The fact is when you order a Custom 112 the price is going to be more than a typical 112 LE from SMKW or Copper and Clad and other companies like that. Plus you can usually get them for a slight discount from MSRP. Plus Buck gets ALL the money..I know it doesn't cost Buck THAT much more to make a drop point verses a clip and the cost difference for say S30V or S35VN instead of 420 should not be that much either. I asked CJ twice at Altanta to just drop a box of DP 112 blades off when he went by the Custom shop lol! Mirror polished blades are a favorite of mine too for a Custom 112 and I know that was common for Buck to offer in 420 even today..but not as a DP. I really don't know if the various super steels can be mirror polished economically but I would pay much if one could be done. I know I can get 112 blades from companies like Snake River but it's just not a Buck blade. If I could I would absolutely buy a factory Raindrop Damascus 112 like the 110 had a few years back especially a DP! If I'm dreaming why not a Dammisteel DP!!
I don't understand the economics of scale for small runs but it seems a no brainier to just make some extra DP's when Buck does make some and just drop a box off at the Custom shop for customers who are willing to pay for the privilege. Things get added and removed from Custom shop options on a fairly regular basis for the last few years so why not 112 DP's? A dozen years ago it was a big deal and expensive to change things on Bucks website but not now. So Buck please give us the opportunity to send you money! I'm ready..
