Buck 112 question?

Hi again, I was just going to ask- Has Buck ever made the 112 custom available or have they ever released the 112 with silver nickel bolsters in a special addition at all? Just wondering because I would love to get a 112, but I only want it in silver bolsters not brass.

Thanks in advance :)

Apparently they are a bit rare.
However, I found one on the bay with a destroyed blade dated 1994.
I couldn't tell it was nickel silver in the photos, assumed it was brass, and was overjoyed when it showed up in the mail and I looked at it.
I had gotten it for the frame to use for a project. So it was actually simple luck that it ended up not being brass.

The folks I know to have extensive 112 experience will eventually get here with comments/details. Hang on you guys.

I said it in the other topic and I'm certain,-- Buck has not used a nickel silver frame much/ little for 112's. I've checked and have only one and it is in a very limited edition knife. Those gents who took advantage of the limited time offer on custom shop 112's will answer toward that subject. I only wish I had. DM

The 112 with NS was a regular production in 1994 and I was fortunate enough to get one for Christmas that year, which is the knife that got me collecting Buck knives. It came with a condura sheath with the gold buck lettering on the front. I still have that knife and have used it very little. I don't know if it was made for just one year or several but it was a regular production knife, because my wife bought it along with a Buck three sided whet stone. It was the best present I got that year, but I know she didn't order it, she bought it from a sporting goods store.

Its the knife all the way to the right

Yep, thats what I am looking for, very nice silver 112 you got there! Maybe I will be lucky enough to come across a silver 112 in the future. For now I have ordered a custom 110, nickle silver, walnut with handle pins and an S30V blade, it will be my first 110 and I am excited :)

That sounds sweet :)
I have been wanting to order a custom shop 110 similar to that :) (S30V and nickel silver)
But I have other stuff I want to buy/do first.

Out of curiousity and the quest for knowledge, I checked the big auction site.
I saw a couple 112's with nickel silver bolsters sporting 1995 and 1997 date stamps.
So added to the 1994 ones we know of, that is at least a few years they were in production :)

Lots of Limited Edition N/S 112's......This would be a really neat display, add in a few years of standard knives in N/S and you'd have a bakers dozen. Hmmm... I wonder how many of these I already have.....
The historically incorrect 25th Anniversary 112 had N/S bolsters in 1988.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The 2010 BCCI Heritage edition had N/S bolsters.
The Ducks Unlimited Canada 1939-1988 had N/S bolsters.
The 1997 Club knife had N/S bolsters with stag and damascus.
The 2007 NKCA edition had N/S bolsters.
Yellowhorse did a N/S 112 in 2010.
There was a 'Skeleton' 112 with N/S bolsters in 2010 also.
2012 Cody Wolf Series 112 was N/S
2012 BCCI Ironwood & Buffalo 112 N/S

Oh wow. Are those part of your own collection?

Hi shuutr & All,

Thank you for your kind thoughts, as you can see the 112 has a spot in my heart and my accumulation. These are knives in my collection. However, I sold the dups to another Buck collector years ago.

And a few others, mostly club offerings, as well. And there may well be a NS Founder's edition, but every one that I have ever seen in a tin has been brass.

You are correct, I was going by my collection database and had it listed incorrectly. I pulled the actual knife and it is brass as you say. Huh.... some one actually reads stuff I post..... Can I still play?
