Franklin. What is the other stuff that says Buck on it there? Also, how is the action on that folder? Is it really loose and wobbling from use or is it gritty and tough to open, and hows the lock up on it? The reason I ask is because it appears from the blade and the case that its been well used.

Do you take pay pal or how do you want paid if its got a good bill of health?

One more thing. Look at the following info and tell me where this knife is in the dates. Thanks.

date information about the 112 Ranger:
1974 to 1980: one dot on either side of the model # (example: .112.)
1980: two dots on the right side of the model # (example: .112..)
1981 to 1986: two dots on either side of the model # (example: ..112..)

STR, the knife is used. I bought it personally in 1974 and had the sheath custom made.
It was carried more than used however with that said the blade swings freely as it was intended for a the quickdraw. There is no dots.
Does that consitute a clean bill of health???

The other stuff is a Hard Arkansas Stone and Honemaster that is not for sale.

I thought I was in line first on this one but apparently someone must want it pretty bad to just bump right in and take it like that. You need to learn some etiquette on how to participate around here Tom.

I have not recieved any PMs today from anyone.

It must be on my end STR, I've sent a pm amd 2 emails.

I have to apologize for the lack of communication.

Apology accepted. You are now off my $hit list for not telling Tom I was first in line but Tom you are on my $hit list for this action. That was rude and uncalled for. I had first dibs.

STR

does it say you want to buy the knife? All you did was ask what kind of shape it was in and what kind of payment would be accepted if you decided his answer was to your liking. I don't see any "dibs" there, just questions.

Dunefan. How many questions of interest does one need to ask to show that he is interested in the knife? Do you see where I asked him if he accepted pay pal or how he wanted paid if the knife had a clean bill of health?

Thats expressing an interest in the knife in my book, based on the answer to my question about condition I'll grant you that but it certainly justifys at least acknowledging that someone else is interested in this knife. I would say it sure justifies giving them a chance to reply before selling it to someone else also. Seems plain as day to me but excuse me for not spelling it out for everyone!

For the record I would certainly, out of common courtesy wait to hear from you before moving on to someone else if you replied to my sale in a like manner to the way I replied to this one.

STR

Right, just about where you wanted to know all sorts of things about the condition of the knife. Which is NOT the BUY-indicator you think it is.

STR, let it go - it's a KNIFE. It's not the end of your universe or mine, but now you are making everyone else think of Franklin as a bad guy, which is not appropriate here.

Take it GBU and hash it out there.

Franklin is a upstanding gentleman who I have dealt with twice in the past 3-4 days and will continue to do so. And Tom, you did NOTHING wrong here, a knife was for sale and you bought it.

Thank you Mr. Parker Sir, for the cudo's. Much appreciated.

And lastly, I'm trying to rectify this situation, if at all posible.

So you guys think I'm asking questions like that just to be making a post or something? Why would I ask that kind of detail about it if I wasn't interested in it? I look at this the way I'd have handled it if I was the seller. I was willing to let it go. No one needs to remind me of how to behave here. I've done this before. I have every right to be upset here in my book but I think I've handled it quite well considering. Do you guys see this in my post:?
Do you take pay pal or how do you want paid if its got a good bill of health?

That says if the knife is in good condition I am interested in it and how do you want paid. How much clearer does it have to get?

And as for your comment about my placing Franklin in a bad light. I don't have the power to make anyone think anything about anyone Parker negative or otherwise and wouldn't if I did. I never condemned him or even scolded him really. I accpeted his apology and we have now communicated back and forth over it. To me it is plain as day that I am obviously interested in this knife but if the general consensus is that it wasn't clear I can accept that and make note of it for future sales to be sure enough to spell it out plainly and consisely for everyone. But I'll point out that it has never been necessary in the past. Most everyone I've dealt with generally accepts that the first post of interest or hint that they are asking about it puts them in line for it.

Problem Solved.

After closely reviewing this situation, it's obvious that there was a glitch in mine & STR's online communications... SPELLED my fault, on my end and my control panel set-up.

I will again apologize for this, and will see it does not happen again.
