Buck 118--Need Some Advice

Wardo, you might want to try a different browser.I normally use google as my browser but I fing the Buck website does not work right for me.So I use microsoft edge when I use Bucks website and
it works fine.
I think the 117 is sold out on Bucks website but if you look at other retailers sites you may find one at a resonable price.

Weird because I used the web specials box on their website to get there.

It looks like there are 3 different places and one looks like an instagram thing at the bottom so maybe there's something going on with different browsers. You can also click the "knife shop" menu and then the web specials box is on the right of that drop down.

If you're using a mobile, that may have something to do with it.
OK, going to the "knife shop" menu and then the web specials box worked.
Thank you for the assist. :)

Got it sorted out. Thx.

I use a Mac Mini desktop with Chrome as a browser. Seems to work OK now using bikerectors suggestion.

Wardo, glad these guys got you hooked up with the web specials. I wasn't ignoring you, just been gone all day (we're moving about 75 miles away - spread out over a month - and it is taking up a lot of my time). OH

Don't let the Fuller on the 117 stop you. For some reason in Old Hunters photo it looks deep and squared off. In person it is more subtle with round ends. I'd take the penolic version over the brahma. I believe you have to go through Copper and Clad.

Here is another view. I guess everyone is different in perception - I sort of look right through a fuller and see the overall blade shape. I had to look at the picture to be reminded there is a fuller on the 117. OH

I'm the same way. The Fuller doesn't matter to me either way. It is just there to lighten the blade a little or in this case just for asthetics.

Have to say that the proportions on the 117 are about perfect IMHO.

The fuller looks like a good place for gunk and bacteria to collect. If using it for fishing and food prep you'd have to be really careful to keep it clean.

I agree with that Wardo. Used my Buck 121 to cut bait on the pier this past Tuesday; wiped it down on the pier and put it back in the sheath. Once home I washed the blade with hot soap and water using a synthetic scouring pad, washed the handle with a cloth, dried it, then touched up the blade edge with ceramic sticks and returned it to the sheath for the next trip. The 121 has no fuller, but the flexible pad could have easily cleaned that area out on a 117 or 119. I don't submerge my Buck 100 series due to the hollow nature of the phenolic grip. I did use the Buck 117 bass fishing on Friday but didn't do any tasks requiring cleaning. OH

That's interesting. I didn't know the phenolic grip was hollow.
