ITE the handle on the SMKW D2 118 Personal is made from anthracite coal. Good coal. Hard coal. Not the soft coal, which is hard to polish. So in an emergency situation it can be combined with heat or a spark to make life saving fire.

BTW, that is the new hobby anvil, $20, 9 pounds, 4" high, horn is 3.5" long and anvil face is 5.5" x 2". It is painted and could use some minor file work to remove two small protuberances (remnants of tack welds) on the base so it won't scratch stuff. I probably won't put it into the glass show case. What do you think?
