I have a couple buck 118's with d-2 steel and wanted to know if anyone
could give me any info on this knife? How many made? how the tang should
be stamped?

I have one that is stamped Buck
Anvil symbol
custom
u.s.a.
then on opposite side D2

I have a second one that reads Buck
Anvil symbol
custom
u.s.a.
on both sides of the knife, then D2 down the top side of the knife blade , different than the first knife,
I'd post pictures but i don't know how
thanks for any info in advance.

WOW must be nice ;)
Tom I believe those are left over from the "Family Favorites" series that were done in 2002.
In the series I believe they were etched with something though?
What type of handles?
Joe will have to let you know for sure I would think!

Stag handles, no etching

Heres the best I can do Tom...
I am pretty sure they are left over blades. How / where did you get them?
I talked with Joe about a pair of those for my father but he said they were possibly scrapped when they moved from El Cajon to Post Falls!
You lucked out!!
Do you have pictures you could email to me? I would post them for you If I could :D...

I believe one of my stag 118's is a D2 as Tom describes... But I won't be able to put a pic of it up for a few more days. I just couldn't drag all the knives to the hunting camp with me...:o

Here you go Tom!!
Nice knife!!! Quality pics too Sir!!
Wish I had seen those when they were available!!!
