Buck 119 first year

When was the first year that buck made the 119 model? Did they all have the model 119 stamped on it?

In the late 50's (56-61) and these were without model numbers. The model numbers were not stamped on the knives until late 71 and all of 72. DM

Prior to 1956 Buck had what was called a field and trench knife, that had a 7" blade, similar to the 119. But the dates Dave gave are correct. If you look in the thread ( A 119 NOT OFTEN SEEN ) you will see a 119 with no model # from 1961.
