Buck 119

Mostly Bucks, a couple of Randalls, and a Benchmade. How about yourself? Is the 119 your first Buck? If you don't already own one, you should consider a 110. It really is the quintessential Buck knife.
Yes the 119 is my first buck. I have a few vics and gerbers and a few random brands. Benchmades are cool

Sounds like a nice collection. I have a few SAKs as well. Anyone who likes knives usually has one or two or three or more SAKs. :D

I strap the 119 on every time I head to the woods which are right outside my door. I use it for nearly everything. Weekend before last I cut up two slabs of BBQ ribs with it. I slice, dice and chop in the kitchen, clean game and look at it admiringly.

I myself try a knives of many brands and keep the ones I like. I give the ones away I dont...which have been some very expensive knives. I'm discovering that Buck gives me very good results though i'm just getting into them.

The Buck 119 is a great knife - but it's the tip of the iceberg - keep looking. OH

Did someone vomit over the railing? Is that carpet or sand?

I understand your concern regarding damaging the handle. You can also cover the studs and snaps with leather. Works great and you can hardly see it.

I purchased my first 119 about six months ago. Went with a late 70s model for the 440C steel and swivel sheath. Really like this knife!

My new phone background ahaha

you could try to get your hands on a Vantage, but not the newer ones with the multiple layers of scales. like steel, zytel then a partial scale....what's that about?!?....

I recently scored a older charcoal diamond wood model. I did have to disassemble it, because they come out all crooked from the factory the way they are rushed out of the assembly line. But once well tweaked, they are such a charm, especially at the price point...that they were at I mean lol

I am waiting on a The vantage force pro right now, Im sure it will be all that after a little tinkering :) they are the best design Buck as produced for an EDC. it's got ergo, style and it's robust. A tad heavy compared to the competition maybe, but with sculpted black blue G10 and black oxide S30V, it nothing short of a big win!

Welcome!

You picked a beautiful CLASSIC BUCK KNIFE! Yes, I am biased too. Grin.

I own a few BUCK knives (Made in Idaho.) and one Ka-Bar (Made in New York.) military knife. ALL of my knives are in the BUCK brand shy of the one K brand.

I gifted my folding BUCK knives (110s and 55s) and my BUCK Vanguard (Fixed blade.) to my husband.

I only own and use fixed blade knives due to my arthritis.

The BUCK 119 Special knife and the BUCK 113 Ranger Skinner knife are my top 2 favorite knives.

The 113 is my daily carry knife. Mine is the standard model.

The 119 Special knife is one that I open carry on a leather belt quite often too. Especially in the woods/wilderness and while camping.

Ragnar,
welcome to the Buck Forum. There is a massive wealth of knowledge going on here. The true Buck people are right here. I have a 119 as well as other Bucks. if I was to think of the most classic Buck fixed blade it would be the 119.

Ragnar, you need to look at the 120 and the 102, also. The 120 is the 119 made longer and the 102 is the 119 shrunk.
