Buck 120 General Sheath for Ka-Bar 1217?

Has anyone tried to put the USMC into the 120's sheath? Just wondering if it fits well. I am looking for a nice, thicker leather sheath for the Ka-Bar cuz I don't really like of "hard using" its factory sheath.
 
I tried my Camillus Marine Combat, which is a similar knife, in my 120 sheath and It was a tight fit due to the width (spine to edge) of the blade. Also, the retaining strap was to short to wrap around the handle and snap closed.

Thanks Tom. Good to know about it. Both the Ka-Bar and the 120 have 7 inches blade and similar general profile so that's how I get the idea of using the sheath in the beginning.
