Buck 122 Fillet Knife

As I recall, the fillet model numbers were 123, 125 & 127 for the Lake, Stream and Oceanmate models and I think that is the correct order. The 122 wood handle version was a special project for Bass Pro Stores if my memory is correct and some (but not all) of them also had a small Bass Pro Logo etch on the blade.

Hollow Point, I doubt the steel is 440C as Buck had already made the switch to 425M in 1982 w/ the 4 dot 110. The finger groove 110 was right below the photo of the 123 LakeMate in that catalog. And these came out with 425M steel. DM

Thanks David, I looked up the 425M and it seems to be a good steel for blade retention which should be very good for a fillet knife. Very anxious to give it a try. Right now my favorite fillet knife happens to be a Cutco Fisherman's Solution which has a 440A steel and is very good to work with...thanks again.
